Engagement Details

Our client is a venture-funded fintech building a new global payments platform with a simple, built-in escrow mechanism to safeguard smaller business transactions (< $250k) from fraud and loss. Of the $6.9T US import/export payment volume, 2/3 go unprotected because current payment protection products like letters of credit are too complex and expensive for SMBs. 9 out of 10 SMB owners constantly worry about fraud and loss because non-payment or non-delivery would be devastating to business survival. The client is partnering with banks to make their "escrow pay" solution available for millions of small businesses Role: We are seeking skilled engineers with fintech experience who are passionate about building secure and easy to use technology. This is a key early role in our engineering team who will have an opportunity to build core pieces of our technology and see the value delivered to our small business customers. Candidates must be able to thrive in an early-stage startup. This means a high degree of ownership and responsibility in a less-structured and fast-changing environment. Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain new full-stack functionality in our web application (TypeScript, React, Nest.js / TypeORM / Express, AWS)
• Collaborate with product design, customer success, and QA to develop a great experience for our users
• Apply best practices for secure, testable, and scalable code to continually improve our technology
• Ownership in the delivery of our platform to users, including participation in an on-call schedule (issues are infrequent)

Required Qualifications

• Upper-intermediate to fluent speaking and writing English. Able to have a real-time conversation.
• 3+ years of full-time hands-on total software development experience.
• 2+ years of full-time hands-on React experience.
• 2+ years of full-time hands-on Typescript experience.
• 2+ years of full-time hands-on Backend Javascript experience.
• 3+ years of full-stack web development experience
• Specific experience with: TypeScript, React, SCSS, Express
• Self-starter with proactive critical thinking
• Strong communication skills - essential in a fully-remote team
• Commitment to quality and continuous improvement
• Interest in learning about security (SOC 2 compliant) and global payments technology

• Experience building a web app for business users
