We're looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer. Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, Right Balance applies the latest technology and best engineering practices to help businesses grow. We’re in the top 50 companies to watch in LA.

We're a fast-growing, pioneering financial wellness start-up that invests heavily in the growth and development of its team members. As a financial education company, we provide a turn-key collaborative money mentorship solution that’s derived from the belief that our financial mentors are the last great hope for educating the working population on healthy money habits and positive behavior change. We seek to spread financial literacy by creating custom programs tailored to organizational needs that ease monetary stress and equip employees with how to plan for their future.

There are 3 different React apps. We need to detach from Create React App, introduce Typescript, add Next.js into the mix, and implement a consistent state management approach across the apps.

Support the development of our web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, have a deep understanding of best practices for performance/stress/load testing, and have solid attention to detail. Our platform also leverages .NET, Azure DevOps, AWS, and Docker.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on full-time software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on full-time experience with React.js.
• Advanced to fluent speaking and writing English. Able to have a real-time conversation.
• Expert ability to break down complex and ambiguous requirements into actionable and technical deliverables.
• Deep understanding of HTML/CSS, responsive design practices (SCSS/SASS, Minification, Webpack).
• Experience creating and updating CRUD interfaces using Material UI (MUI) along with API integration.
• Understanding of OOP/Flux design principles.
• Knowledge of Next.js.
• Experience using CI/CD: Git, Github, Azure DevOps.

Nice to haves

1. BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field.

2. Experience with building apps using server-side rendering (Next.JS or similar).

3. Experience with Agile/Kanban methodologies and best practices.

4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to have fun in a small team environment.
